Bluetooth / WiFi OBD-II adapters Attention! "Bad" Bluetooth & WiFi adapters with low quality clones of ELM327.
Duc H. Luu posted this 24 April 2021

Purchased a Nexpow OBD2 Scanner Bluetooth from Amazon. After a few minutes pairing the device to my phone, I was able to connect with incardoc app and Torque (lite) with no problems. The only limitations are the free version of the apps. My only recommendation is purchase the Pro/upgraded apps, not to play with advanced settings and associated PIDs in the app. Read the class="searchedTermMatch">guide before going too deep.

User feedback What to Do When You’re Locked Out of Your Car
Troy Stapek posted this 21 April 2021 - Last edited 29 June 2022

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Getting locked out of your car and not knowing where the key is can be a very troubling experience. It’s a very common scenario and one that people don’t want to get into. However, if you do end up in such a situation, and don’t know what to do, here are a few suggestions that can help you out.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Stay calm and don’t panic

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">It’s easy to get stressed out and start panicking when you’re locked out of your car and can’t find your keys. However, stressing out won’t do you any good. If anything, it’s just going to make the situation worse.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">You need to stay calm in such situations. Maintaining calmness will allow you to think rationally, which in turn will help you act quickly. That way, you can find a proper solution to your problem in no time.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">When you first realize that your car keys are not with you and you’ve been locked out, you need to understand that the car is still there; hence, there’s no immediate threat of it getting stolen. Now you need to get into your car, and since you can’t find the key, you should either look for it or find another way in.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Look for the key

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Looking for a car key can be quite difficult. And for some reason, this task becomes even more daunting when you’re in a rush. Hence, when you set out to look for your key, you need to maintain your calmness. Rushing things won’t help; you need to be patient.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">If the key isn’t inside the car, you should start by searching your pockets or bag. Afterward, you should look around the house, office, or wherever you are at that very instant.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">You should also search the grounds around the car. The key might’ve been dropped on the ground by accident when you were taking something out of your pocket.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Find the spare key

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">If you’re at home and can’t find the car key anywhere, you should go look for the spare key instead. And in case you don’t have a spare key, it’s probably just not your day.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">When buying a brand new car, you’ll likely receive two identical remote keys. If, however, you’re buying a used car, the previous owner might hand you just the one key (probably because they lost or damaged the other one; do ask about it). In this case, you should get a spare key made later on for situations where you can’t find the original key for your car.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Call an auto locksmith

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">You’ve looked everywhere, but still can’t find your key; what do you do next? The answer is pretty simple - you call an auto locksmith.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Unlike a car dealership, an auto locksmith won’t take days to deliver your key. They don’t even need to see your car’s spare key to make a new one.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Many of them have spare car keys in stock and can deliver them within short notice. Experts like Key Craft Locksmiths, an auto locksmith in Kent, have spares for many renowned car brands, including Audi, BMW, Toyota, Mercedes, and so on.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">And if for some reason, they don’t have a spare key or can’t make you one anytime soon, auto locksmiths still have the tools to ensure a non-destructive entry into your car.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Break the window

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Breaking your car’s window is not an ideal solution. However, if the situation calls for it, you should go ahead and break the glass.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Breaking a car window is no easy task. The glass is usually tempered and can’t be broken easily. If you don’t know how to break a car window, you should first learn to do so before you take out your hammer. Be extremely careful while breaking the glass, and follow all sorts of safety precautions. If your baby or pet is still inside the car, break the window in such a way that the impact from the shattered glass can’t hurt them badly.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Get a tow truck

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">Let’s assume a scenario where everything you did so far returned no results; you still can’t find the key, there’s no locksmith available at the moment, and breaking the car’s window is something you don’t want to do. Yet, you need to get the car out of its current parking spot, and you need to do it fast.

class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign: justify;">In such dire circumstances, you should call for a tow truck. For now, just move your car from its current spot and take it back home or to a locksmith or mechanic. You can decide what to do about the whole situation later on.

David Anderson posted this 07 April 2021 - Last edited 07 April 2021

If you are on the fence between employing a service provider or a car transport broker, after that you are not alone. Everyone moving a vehicle for the very first time experiences this psychological tug of war. Nevertheless, if you know both the strengths and also weaknesses of both, it can be a pretty very easy decision for you to make. So this overview is going to help you do simply that; make certain to stick till the end. Vehicle shipping cost
Integrity:
When to dependability and also credibility, vehicle transport brokers take the lead. This is because they are registered entities with a business and also brick and mortar establishment in place. So if any broker devotes fraud, they do not have anywhere to run because the federal government has all their information.
Carriers on the various other hand, are individuals that transport your automobile. So if any kind of among them decides to scam you by supplying inexpensive at the beginning and after that increasing at the end, you might not have the ability to hold them answerable. Furthermore, if a provider chooses to run off with your car, it can be extremely tough to track him down.
Price to Ship an Automobile:
The cars and truck shipping price is generally lower with the provider because they don't have any firm in place with a group of people dedicated to assisting you out every step of the method. Nevertheless, the distinction is not that much since the car transportation broker provides bulk orders in exchange for low rates so you obtain low cost also from the broker.
Paying a couple of hundred dollars a lot more to the vehicle delivery broker is better because you get fantastic consumer support as well as assurance of managing a sclass="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">igned up entity.

The solution level of vehicle delivery brokers unquestionably beats the solution used by the carrier. Auto transport brokers have a group in position to lead you, address your concerns and aid you out every step of the means. Also after the automobile is supplied, they will certainly more than happy to supply after-sales assistance.
Service providers are simply people that are best at moving cars and trucks; you can not expect comprehensive phone calls from them discussing your needs and offering services.

Providers require to have insurance in order to run as well as brokers need to use qualified and insured carriers in any way costs. So if you deal with a direct provider, you will certainly need to go via the pain of ensuring he is fully insured and that your cars and truck will be covered under the insurance plan.

User feedback Should You Purchase Key Replacement Cover for Your Car?
mnauman379 posted this 01 April 2021 - Last edited 02 April 2021

What’s the worst nightmare for every car owner? Of course, you’d shudder at the thought of any damage to your precious vehicle. But imagine being stranded in a remote neighborhood with your car and being unable to drive it. This is what happens when you lose or damage your car keys.

Now, losing a set of car keys isn’t something that happens too often. But when it does, it can be an excruciatingly painful experience that’ll burn a huge hole in your wallet. Depending on the type of vehicle, you might have to get the entire locking system replaced. It’s the same case when the keys get accidentally damaged or broken.

With modern keyless locking systems, the cost of replacing your car keys can quickly escalate. That’s why new-age car owners are increasingly opting to purchase key replacement cover for their cars.

But given that the chances of misplacing or damaging your car keys are fairly slim, is key replacement cover worth the consideration? Let’s find out.

The Evolution of Car Keys

Traditionally, most cars came with manual keys that were easy to replace. As long as a locksmith could get an impression of the grooves, they could easily create a replica of the original keys. All you have to do is find a credible and trusted locksmith. If you’re wondering what kind of services an auto locksmith offers, you can click here for more information.

But the days of manual car keys are gone. Today, most cars come with remote keys or keyless frequency-operated buttons (FOBs). Remote car keys are equipped with a transponder that emits radio or infrared waves. This, in turn, makes it possible to lock and unlock a vehicle by pressing a button.

On the other hand, a keyless FOB or smart key features a sensor that’s detected by your car’s locking system. Depending on how far or near you are to the vehicle, it automatically locks or unlocks the doors without requiring you to press any buttons.

Both remote keys and keyless FOBs contain a code that’s unique to your car’s locking system. These cutting-edge keys offer the utmost convenience and excellent security features. But replacing these keys isn’t as straightforward and inexpensive as getting a set of duplicate keys from a locksmith.

In most cases, you’ll need to replace the entire locking system to protect your car against theft. This is particularly crucial if the original keys are stolen or lost. Depending on the manufacturer, getting a new locking system could cost you a few hundred dollars at least.

This is where the key replacement cover steps into the picture. Let’s take a closer look.

Decoding Key Replacement Cover

Simply put, the key replacement cover is an add-on to your comprehensive car insurance policy. It covers the cost of replacing the key and locking system of your car in the event of lost, stolen, or damaged keys.

The biggest benefit of getting a key replacement cover is that it helps you save money. Depending on your insurance provider, it could cost less than $30 a year. This is far more affordable than spending thousands of dollars to get a new set of car keys.

Some insurance providers even include the key replacement cover in the comprehensive policy. Apart from replacing the locking system and keys, some plans include other services, such as towing your car to a safe location or arranging for a set of spare keys in case of an emergency.

It’s always a good idea to check with your provider or car dealer to explore different key replacement cover options.

Is It Worth The Money?

Why should you replace your vehicle’s locking system when you’ve got spare keys? To begin with, if you misplace the original keys, your car is always at risk of being stolen. In all likelihood, you might have dropped the keys somewhere in your house.

But it could also end up in the hands of the wrong person, thus jeopardizing your vehicle’s safety. The worst part is that if your car gets stolen, you’ll need the original keys to make any insurance claims. Considering that losing the original keys in the first place is what led to this situation, you’ll be stuck in a deadlock.

So, irrespective of whether you’ve got a spare key, you need to replace your vehicle’s locking systems and keys if you can’t find the original one. And the most affordable way of doing this is to get a key replacement cover. While it’s not something you’re going to use frequently, it’ll come to your rescue when the need arises.

Are there any other add-ons that you’ve purchased to enhance your car insurance coverage? Share your recommendations in the comments section below.

User feedback Arriving in Style - Consider Hiring a Chauffeur Service for These 7 Occasions
mnauman379 posted this 01 April 2021 - Last edited 02 April 2021

For daily commutes, hiring a taxi or calling an UBER does the job. However, there are certain occasions where these services won’t suffice, and you’ll need something more. You’d want to arrive at these events in style, for which you’d need to hire a chauffeur service.

In case you’re confused, here are 7 occasions during which you should consider hiring a chauffeur service.

#class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">1 When you have a foreclass="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign or high-value client visiting

You should consider hiring a chauffeur service when you have foreclass="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign or high-value clients visiting your office or factory. Given how important they are to you and your company, you must keep them happy at all costs during their visit. And one of the ways you can do so is by driving them around in style.

From the airport pickup to driving them around town, the chauffeur service can take care of it all. Such high-value clients enjoy having a private car driving them around, especially if it’s a luxurious one.

#2 When state declared VIPs or foreclass="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign diplomats are visiting

The government hires private vehicles to chauffeur foreclass="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign leaders or diplomats around when they visit their country. It’s not necessary that the government has to provide all the vehicles from their own fleet. When the former US President, Donald Trump, visited the UK in 20class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">18 and 20class="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">19, his staff and other officials from the US government were driven around by a luxury chauffeur and car service provider called We Drive Global. This helps the host government to save costs on having to buy their own luxury cars and hire personnel to drive them.

In most cases, the chauffeur service provides the car and the government provides the necessary security detail for the convoy. Hence, the chauffeurs often need to train alongside security units before they’re cleared for the job.

#3 For your school prom

For a school prom, stretched limos are fun. However, if you consider yourself different from all your other friends or class="searchedTermMatch">classmates, or you just want to arrive in your own way, you can hire a luxury chauffeur service. These services usually have tons of branded cars in their fleet, including Mercedes, Bentley, Audi, Rolls Royce, etc. And while they may not be as flashy as a limo, they’ll still make a lot of heads turn.

#4 On the day of your wedding

Your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life. It’s a day when everything needs to be perfect. From your attire to the way you arrive at the venue, everything needs to have a bit of finesse.

Thus, hiring a luxury chauffeur service for your wedding is quite reasonable. These services are widely available and also quite affordable. Even if you need to spend a bit extra, what better time to do so than your own wedding day?

#5 For roadshows

There are plenty of things you have to do to organize a successful roadshow. One of those things is to hire a car to drive the people around.

Usually, most roadshows don’t require luxury cars. A regular car is more than enough to get things going. However, if the roadshow features a VIP guest - like a celebrity, businessman, or politician - regular cars may not do the trick. In such cases, a luxury chauffeur service is the best alternative.

Most chauffeur services have cars of various sizes. Thus, you don’t need to worry about fitting everyone integral to the roadshow into a single sedan.

#6 For foreclass="searchedTermMatch">class="searchedTermMatch">ign celebrities

Event planners need to make a lot of preparations before they host or even think of inviting a celebrity to an event. Things become more complicated when the celebrity in question is from a different country and doesn’t have their own vehicle for moving around. This is when you need to provide them with a chauffeur service. After all, they’re not going to drive on their own, nor are they going to call an UBER or taxi. Besides, regular hire cars just won’t do it for them.

Given the luxury these celebrities are used to, a chauffeur-driven luxury car is your best bet for making sure that they’re comfortable during their tour.

#7 For important corporate meetings

If your car breaks down on the morning of an important business meeting, you can consider calling a chauffeur service. As a top-level employee of your company, you can’t arrive at a business meeting on public transportation, especially if it’s hot and humid outside. You need to enter the meeting room in style and in a fresh mood. Hence, hiring a chauffeur service seems reasonable in this case.
