Suggestions for improvement

Been using software to monitor performance of my RV on a recent (ongoing) trip. Here are some suggestions for improvement.

1. Manual scale for real-time graphs. It's disconcerting to have the vertical scale change. I would like to run for a while using the auto mode to establish a reasonable range, then lock the scale to something of my choosing. While it's nice to have one parameter display its current value in a large font, the values for the other parameters are essentially hidden because the scale is variable and the font is too small to read while driving. User-specified scales would eliminate this problem.

2. Meaningful file names for exported data e.g. YYYYMMDD_HHSS.csv. Not sure what information comprises the current file names.

3. User-configurable widget to display the current value of a few selected parameters. I would like this widget to float over top of my GPS program.

4. Ability to report fuel consumption in litres per 100 km (that's the metric standard; km per litre is not used).

5. A parameter to report total fuel consumed OR fuel consumed since last recorded value. I've programmatically converted the fuel consumption per hour into a total fuel value, but I don't really trust the calculation. Would prefer a direct reporting of the fuel consumed value.

6. Continue recording into the current file even when the engine is turned off. Use a manual command to close the file. Currently, I must remember to restart the recording whenever I turn off the engine for a short stop. Perhaps make it selectable in the options which method to use.

IMHO, these suggestions would improve an already-great program!

Thank you for the feedback! Your comments are highly appreciated!

Just few remarks:

> 4. Ability to report fuel consumption in litres per 100 km (that's the metric standard; km per litre is not used).

There both consumption parameters supported: "Economy fuel" - l per 100km, "Economy distance" - distance on 1 liter

> 6. Continue recording into the current file even when the engine...

you might try to use "Auto..." options in Configuration-Connection to simplify start of the last used command, command will start automatically including the "recording" state.

Other suggestions will take to work! Thanks!!!

Thanks for the tip about the Fuel Economy setting. I had overlooked it. Also tried the Average Fuel Economy, which was interesting. It might be more useful as an average over the last number of minutes or distance, rather than over the entire journey.

Yes, I use the Auto settings, and they are useful. However, I sometimes forget about using the app after a brief stop on the roadside when I turn off the engine. That was the situation I was trying to address with my suggestion.

Thanks for the feedback! You are right, some extra parametric average might have sense, put in plans. Auto connection, yes we see your case, maybe add some special mode when application will monitor the parameters and do all staff automatically... just task not to dry battery too quick :)

Thanks!!!

I see your point about battery drain. Had not considered it... I only use OBD when the tablet is connected to 12-volt power supply so it's not an issue. Can you take that into account in your logic to continue recording, for example, continue recording when the engine is shut down if the tablet is connected to external power?
