After some extended trips with monitoring engine/vehicle performance. Dunno if the developer actually reads and/or heeds these suggestions; there haven't been any updates since I purchased the software.
1. had been using Google Nexus 7 (2013) as the recording device, and it worked successfully. Then for some unknown reason, it began to record only 5-10 minutes of data, then disconnect from the OBD dongle. It became very frustrating to ensure complete data coverage. Finally tried a different (old, cheap) Android device, and it worked flawlessly. No idea why the Nexus device failed; maybe an Android update changed the Bluetooth connection parameters? Dunno...
2. The replacement Android device has a small screen (~3 inches) and is mounted in landscape orientation. The real-time graph is virtually useless because everything is too small to be readable at a distance. Much of the screen real-estate is consumed with "labels". Suggest that a better use of the screen real-estate is to omit all the labels and scale the graph to a known maximum (user-specified) value. Each of the selected parameters in the configuration screen could have a place for the user to specify the maximum graphed value.
3. The textbox where the currently-selected value is displayed (e.g., economy fuel) does not accommodate large values. I use the app on a large RV that routinely exceeds 100 l/100 km when climbing steep hills. These values are not displayed correctly in the textbox, usually appearing like this: "11..." when it should appear as "115". The textbox is configured to display the value rounded to one decimal place; I suggest that integer values would be sufficient.
4. Display the current values for all the currently-graphed parameters, instead of just one parameter. No need to include its name and units; just display the actual value. By reducing the amount of "fluff" on the screen, it could accommodate more meaningful information. Keep the textboxes large enough that they can be read at a distance on a small screen.
5. Have a user-selectable location where the data files are stored. e.g. Dropbox
6. Have a prominent display to show when GPS signal is not being recorded. The Android notification is too small to be noticeable.
7. Allow viewing and/or editing of the configuration file (ie, the selected parameters) when the device is not connected to the tablet.
