Administrator posted this 23 September 2019

The Tokyo Motor Show is a large and anticipated event in the automotive industry. The event is held every two years. It takes place on October 24 — November 4, at Tokyo Big Sight.

The manufacturers reveal the details of concept cars and production models of cars, the release and full implementation of which is expected in 2020-2022, what is naturally, with the approach of the Tokyo Motor Show. And if it seems that much is already known, manufacturers are always able to surprise at the showrooms, without putting all cards on the table.

However, what do we know for the current moment? And who of the participants of the Show is the most mysterious?

"Open Future” — is the slogan of the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. The up-to-date trend for any industry is to be environmentally friendly, this flow is fairly for automotive manufacturers. Therefore, it is legitimate that focus approaches on electric vehicles.

The first Lexus EV

Lexus will present its first electric car with a hatchback body. The concept of a city car on full electric traction has a futuristic design similar to the early concept of 2015 Lexus LF-SA. To create a competitive product Lexus invest much in the development of sufficiently powerful powertrains. The spindle grille has been a distinctive symbol of the brand for a long time, so even the electric car will not lose it. Although, new EV may have a bright, unusual and slightly modernized design of the grill.

The New Generation Honda Jazz

Honda Jazz — is a one-another car whose debut is expected at the TMS. The debut of the third-generation Jazz model was six years ago. Time for a generational change had come. Earlier, Honda claimed that the line of cars of the brand will be represented exclusively by hybrid-cars on the European market by 2025. 4-generation Honda Jazz is a hybrid hatchback with two engines i-MMD. As for the design, we assume that the company will remain true to its style, and will surprise with technical specifications, but not the appearance of the body. We also recall that the first hybrid by the brand is Honda CR-V.

The Serial EV by Mazda

The theme of electrification won’t bypass the Mazda company. The company intends to introduce its first all-electric car, as well as Lexus. However, Mazda’s advantage is that the new vehicle is a serial. Its release is expected in 2020. The car is declared as a brand’s new model, so we can only guess what will be the design of the new electric car from Mazda. Given current trends, perhaps it will be a small crossover or urban hatchback. Specifications are also not disclosed, at the moment.

PHEV by Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi makes its debut at the occurrence with the concept of the compact plug-in hybrid SUV (PHEV). It is known that the car will be equipped with an electric all-wheel-drive system and has a lightweight body.

Nissan, Toyota and Subaru Keep in Silence

Nissan had shown an electric compact crossover, which based on the concept car IMx. The release starts in the United States in 2021.

The dark horses are representatives of Toyota and Subaru. The companies don’t disclose any details and intend to surprise the audience at the Show already. The effect of surprise plays a role no worse than the gradual suspense. It is known that the cars of both manufacturers will be rear-wheel drive concept cars of the next generation Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ. According to insiders’ info, both cars will go through significant changes in power and transmission systems.
