The first convertible-crossover car from VW — already in production
The non-trivial car, which is smaller than the VW T-cross and larger than the VW Tiguan, has a fresh exterior. On the cusp of a new decade, companies are bracing their cars. Every self-respecting brand has its own electrification program for their line-ups. In addition, the increased demand for crossovers has led to the expansion of offerings in the market and the modification of cars. About automotive trends in 2020, we will tell you later. In the meantime, lets back to the Volkswagen T-Roc.
Crossover T-Roc isn’t a newcomer on the market, however, soon it will compete with T-Roc Convertible. That's right, open-top crossover! In addition, it is the only convertible car of the brand. It will not be much different from its closed counterpart but can boast of different features.
Crossover T-Roc is equipped with modern diode optics. The marker lights are shifted down and refresh the full face of the car. The overall the appearance of the body is close to the style of Audi and therefore hints at premium class appearance.
The trunk volume is 445 liters, which is a bit small for a crossover. The tilted rear uprights took some of the space.
Urban crossover has two sets of drive, front, and full plug-in. The 4WD is operated with the help of a Haldex 5 multi-disc clutch. In terms of performance, the t-Roc crossover will be available on the market with 9 engine options. However, not in all markets.
The car from the base 150 HP will be able to give up to 300 HP acceleration time from 11 to 4.8 seconds. Engines under the hood T-Roc: 1.0 TSI, 1.5 DCI, 1.5 TSI 4Motion, 2.0 TSI 4Motion, T-Roc R (most powerful), 1.6 TDI, 2.0 TDI, 2.0 TDI 4Motion.
The convertible model is still claimed in the configuration of 1- or 1.5-liter engine with an output power of 115-150 HP, respectively, and only on the front-drive.
In the meantime, T-Roc is showing excellent sales figures. We have to wait for the completion of the convertible T-Roc production.
