It is obvious that the function of Autonomous driving and augmented reality gradually spread in the field of the automotive industry. In addition to the fact that manufacturers are ready to offer such a complex functionality to the consumer right now, they use these modern technologies in the process of developing new models.

Level 4 Autonomous Driving

The New Hyundai IONIQ will be fitted with Level 4 autonomous driving (AD) technologies soon. The individualised system satisfies users' desires, driving habits and helps to achieve customer needs.

As for today, Hyundai IONIQ offers a choice of three electrified powertrains in one body type. In the future, the company is going to release Level 4 AD technology for the European market. Different cars are capable of various levels of self-driving on a scale of 0-5. Where a range is covered by total human control to a completely autonomous car in every situation. Levels 3 and 4 have variable automated-controllers depending on driving scenarios. Levels 1 and 2 have certain automated functions, but human's operation is still required.

The advanced functionality of the new technology will interact with other cars at the internal level. However, human interaction with it will be simplified. The main aspect of the development remains the safety of the driver and passengers.

Hyundai Use VR to Design Car

Hyundai Design Center Europe (HDCE) uses the latest virtual technology when designing cars. Now, thanks to virtual reality, HDCE can begin to understand, and even feel, both the exterior and interior of the product before it physically exists.

Creating a virtual model of the car helps to take into account several minor nuances regarding the interaction of the driver with the car, thus at the early stages to identify the advantages and disadvantages. The Virtual Seat Buck – used for those purposes, also it allows visualizing design data, color and trim, in 3D perception.
