Bad Brake Pads Symptoms
Brake pads are very important components of every car and play a great role in bringing a vehicle to a safe and controlled stop. In this way, every driver should pay attention to brake pads and change them timely. How do you know when it is time to change your brake pads? There are some main signs of bad brake pads below.
Squealing (Squeaky Brakes). Bad brake pads make noise – stepping on brake pedal you will hear squealing sounds. When brake pads get worn out with age, they build up a lot of dust in them. As the dust continues to accumulate in the brake pads, they will start to squeal each time you use the brake.
Vibrations. Bad brake pads sometimes don`t make noise but can wear unevenly, or become damaged during braking so that chunks of the pad break off or material is deposited onto the disc. When this happens, it can create vibrations under braking that occurs because the pad is unable to evenly distribute pressure across its entire surface. Remember that vibration is a sign that something is wrong.
Slower Brakes. Because of bad brake pads, a brake pedal response can be very slow. This could be a cause of a serious accident so you shouldn`t ignore this sign.
