Where do I find out about car protocols manually if the app fails to establish one?

You might need search internet or forums to find topics with discussions of custom protocols and diagnostics of a specific make/model. There might be some hints about possibility of connection, protocols and commands for the specific car model.
Then you might test that in Console and later we could help to prepare a configuration file.
