I've been driving around with the Veepeak OBD II Scanner plugged into the cars OBD port. I just assumed it would be ok. But couple of days ago my car just completely shut down while driving and I got the ER HC code in odometer. Never had this before and it indicates error on the high speed CAN bus. Could leaving the scanner attached to OBD port and driving for 1 or 2 months cause damage to CAN bus?

Not sure that it”s damage, but rather some temporary signal interruption. Anyway it marks out some potential troubles of housing this adapter at your car... More about “bad” adapters here
