What is the connection, procedure in case of a Mercedes and BMW cars with round diagnostic port?

Please note, that app and ELM327 adapters designed for OBD-II compliant cars. If the car have socket that does not fit the standard, it's the big chance that protocol does not compatible with OBD-II specification too. 
You might need to search some specialized app and adapter, that declare support of custom protocol for te specified car model/year. Great chance that it might be 2 different solutions for Mercedes and BMW.

Pretty sure the round "diagnostic" port is an OBD-1 port.

OBD-I does not supported with both ELM327 adapter and our app. Supported only next generation OBD-II Thanks
