Codes description P2185 Error Code on Seat Leon - Coolant Temperature Sensor 2
mfmpdzwkqyniionhhb опубліковано це 4 тижнів тому

Hi everyone,
I’m getting a P2185 error code on my Seat Leon, which refers to “Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 – Signal Too High.”
The check engine light came on, and this is the only code that shows up when I scan it.
Has anyone experienced this issue before?
Thanks in advance!

The P2185 code means the ECM is detecting a high signal from Coolant Temperature Sensor 2. Common causes include:

  • Faulty coolant temperature sensor (often the sensor itself has failed).

  • Damaged wiring/connector (corrosion, loose plug, or short to voltage).

  • Rarely, an issue with the ECU.

I’d start by checking the wiring and connector for damage or corrosion, then consider replacing the sensor if everything looks fine. It’s usually a relatively inexpensive and straightforward fix.

OBD Car Doctor Android functionality OBD-II Vehicle Metric Overlay

Can In Car Doc overlay a navigation app's screen with vehicle metrics? I would want a minimum footprint overlay.

Codes description EPC and MTK indicators light up after acceleration
girare3162 опубліковано це 12 серпня 2025

I’ve had a similar issue on my 2016 VW Golf — sudden EPC light, jerking, and limp mode kicks in, then sometimes clears after a restart. The MTK light stuck usually points to an emissions or transmission fault.
I used InCarDoc to scan and found a faulty throttle position sensor causing erratic throttle response. Sometimes it triggers those warning lights randomly but still lets you drive cautiously.
Definitely scan with InCarDoc ASAP to grab any stored codes and monitor throttle and transmission data live. That’ll give you a clearer picture before spending on parts.

Codes description P0011 - Intake Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced (Bank 1) — How Serious Is It?
tevil12741 опубліковано це 12 серпня 2025

If the P0011 is still coming back after the camshaft sensor and wiring replacement, then the root cause is likely elsewhere in the variable valve timing (VVT) system. On the Hyundai ix35, common culprits include:

VVT (OCV) solenoid sticking or partially clogged — cleaning might give temporary relief, but if wear is present, replacement is recommended.

Oil quality/pressure issues — old, dirty, or low oil can cause poor VVT operation. Make sure you’re using the correct grade and that the oil pump is maintaining pressure.

Timing chain stretch or tensioner wear — if the chain is out of spec, the ECU can interpret this as “over-advanced” timing.

ECU adaptation values — sometimes need to be reset after parts replacement.

Since towing puts more load on the engine, I’d be cautious about heading on a long trip without resolving the cause — especially if the issue returns quickly after a “temporary fix.”
If possible, get a live-data scan (tools like InCarDoc can log camshaft target vs. actual angles) to see exactly when and how the timing is drifting. That can help pinpoint whether the problem is mechanical (chain/solenoid) or oil-related before you risk a breakdown on holiday.

I had the same P0011 on my 2015 Honda Accord. In my case, InCarDoc live data showed the VVT advance angle was sticking at higher values. Turned out my oil was a bit low and dirty — a quick oil change with the correct 0W-20 plus a new filter cleared the code and smoothed things out. Worth checking your oil level/condition before the appointment.

Codes description Codes P1496 and P2563 - Turbo Issues or Just Settings?
pacar44565 опубліковано це 12 серпня 2025

I had almost the same thing happen on my 2017 Skoda Octavia TDI — P1496 and P2563 popping in and out with no obvious performance loss. Using InCarDoc, I noticed the VGT actuator was occasionally sticking at partial load, especially after longer drives. A light clean of the actuator linkage and a recalibration with diagnostics fixed it. Might be worth checking your actuator movement in live data before assuming the turbo itself is shot.

Codes description Sudden Loss of Power – Code P029900 on 2016 VW Passat TDI (Boost Pressure Regulation Issue)
posije3527 опубліковано це 12 серпня 2025

I had a really similar issue on my 2015 Audi A4 2.0 TDI — same P029900 code and the same “vacuum disappears after a few seconds” behavior. I hooked up InCarDoc to watch live boost and vacuum data, and it was clear that the vacuum dropped off as soon as the ECU decided to cut control to the turbo actuator.
In my case, it wasn’t the vacuum pump at all — it turned out to be a small split in the vacuum line hidden right under the heat shield near the turbo. The line looked fine at first glance, but when it got warm, the crack opened and the vacuum dropped instantly.
If you can, try logging with InCarDoc while flexing the lines by hand — sometimes you can see the drop happen in real time. Saved me from swapping a perfectly good pump.
