Hi everyone,
I’m getting a P2185 error code on my Seat Leon, which refers to “Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 – Signal Too High.”
The check engine light came on, and this is the only code that shows up when I scan it.
Has anyone experienced this issue before?
Thanks in advance!
The P2185 code means the ECM is detecting a high signal from Coolant Temperature Sensor 2. Common causes include:
-
Faulty coolant temperature sensor (often the sensor itself has failed).
-
Damaged wiring/connector (corrosion, loose plug, or short to voltage).
-
Rarely, an issue with the ECU.
I’d start by checking the wiring and connector for damage or corrosion, then consider replacing the sensor if everything looks fine. It’s usually a relatively inexpensive and straightforward fix.
