Hey guys, I have found this app and this website and I have tried to connect some different models of elm 327 odb2 with bluetooth connection.

There are some cheaper ones, but also I have tried more expensive ones, so fare 4 different models, different price range and supplier and all of them show me that ELM is connected but cant connect to ECU.

Because I was reading about this for a long time now, in the search for an answer or help to solve this or buy the proper equipment, I came across as well to the possibility that the socket might be damage or ECU is damage due to some previous changes performed by the previous owner of this car.

And this is the motive of this post, to share and ask you how can I be sure everything is ok with plug, because Im inclined to buy the adapter from inCarDoc but it doesnt make sense if the issue is in my car.

For example, the last time I tried the ODBII mac address was: 00:1D:A5:01:2A:7A

For reference my car is a 2005 Jaguar X-type 2.0D

Thank you!

To get idea about the case it would be great to check the connection protocol from the inCarDoc app. Please follow the steps below to record and send the required data:

How to connect inCarDoc for iOS and Android to OBD adapter
https://inCarDoc.com/en-us/article/how-to-connect-obd-car-doctor-ios-and-android-to-obd-adapter/

If still have an issues, please send the data directly from app as it recommended in article above

Thanks!
